Frontline presidential contender of the Green Party GPN former chief security officer of late head of state General Abacha Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, has dumped the Green Party of Nigeria GPN for the ruling all progressive people congress APC for his presidential ambition.

Former Chief Security Officer to the late General Sani Abacha, Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha who associated himself with a new political party twenty four months ago have decided not to contest the presidential elections in 2019 under the banner of the Green Party of Nigeria and has opted for the APC.
Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha in his Past statements announced his preference for the party he called Green Party of Nigeria GPN. Finally, the real people’s Party has landed. Please give praise to our Creator for rare beautiful gift to the people. The future is GPN and GPN is the Future.”
This is not unconnected with the recent medical leave that the president is having in London where information indicates that he might not be able to contest the 2019 presidential elections due to health reasons.
Lagos herald sited Maj Hamza Al-Mustapha poster heavily pasted in several cities in Gombe State the home state of Al-Mustapha.
Recall that Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha, a former Chief Security Officer of the late Gen. Sani Abacha, was personally responsible for creating the PTF whom the PMB the current president served as the Chairman until it was scrapped by the administration of General Olusegun Obasanjo.
Initially in 2013 he had opined that he had no ambition to venture into politics or seek for political position in the country.
Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha, who was standing trial for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, was discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal in 2013, resulting to heated controversies.
At the moment, Lagos Herald could not reach him as his numbers were not reachable.
Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha joined the army and was trained as an intelligence operative. His conduct of interrogations brought him to the attention of Sani Abacha.
When Abacha was Chief of Army (August 1985 – August 1990) Maj. a Hamza al-Mustapha was his Aide-de-Camp.
Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha was appointed Chief Security Officer to the Head of State (CSOHS) with a Special Strike Force Unit during Abacha’s military regime (17 November 1993 – 8 June 1998).
